What does it mean when a guy spends his money on you?

my friend has a boyfriend who is extremely sweet & rich. she is a gold digger. all she cares about is money & doesnt treat her boyfriend very well. everytime he gets paid, he spends almost all his money on her. does that mean he is pussy whipped? cuz i know they have sex all the time! i wish i could have something like that!
